Role Purpose:
The Assistant Manager – EXIM will manage end‑to‑end import and export operations and handle export‑benefit schemes such as Advance Authorisation (AA), EPCG, and Duty Drawback. This role is needed as we are moving from the RoDTEP scheme to the AA scheme, which provides much higher benefits. Since the AA scheme requires extensive documentation, detailed reconciliation, and regular follow‑ups with DGFT and Customs, one dedicated resource is required to ensure compliance and smooth execution.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage the Advance Authorisation (AA) scheme end‑to‑end.
- Apply for AA licences and ensure timely approvals.
- Track licence utilisation and ensure proper closure.
- Monitor export obligations and ensure they are met on time.
- Manage export‑benefit schemes including AA, EPCG, and Duty Drawback.
- Maximise export benefits and prevent revenue leakage.
- Ensure full compliance with DGFT, Customs, GST, and other regulations.
- Track policy changes and assess their impact on operations.
- Prepare and verify all EXIM documents such as invoices, BOEs, shipping bills, and licences.
- Perform detailed reconciliation at document and HS‑code level.
- Act as the main contact with DGFT, Customs, and other authorities.
- Handle queries, follow up on approvals, and resolve issues quickly.
- Coordinate closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and Logistics teams.
- Support internal, statutory, and customs audits and manage compliance risks.
- Drive process improvements and ensure a smooth transition from RoDTEP to AA.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in import/export management, with in-depth knowledge of Indian import/export schemes such as Advance License, EPCG, and Duty Drawback.
- Strong understanding of trade compliance, customs regulations, and scheme obligations, both domestically and internationally.
- Ability to analyse trade data and identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
- Excellent coordination skills to manage internal stakeholders and external partners, with strong communication abilities to liaise with government agencies, brokers, and logistics providers.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving compliance issues, documentation inaccuracies, and operational delays.
- Good Excel and analytics, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Relevant Exports administration experience in a large manufacturing MNC company.
