Role Purpose:
- To handle the Finishing Consumer department including Polishing, Finishing Consumer threads. To handle the Production, daily planning, Quality approval, people management and focus on Department KPIs.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Drive Health, Safety & EHS performance (SSB, TaRA, MOC, MSA, BBS, audits, incident investigations).
- Ensure operational excellence: manpower optimization, KPI achievement, lead time ≤24 hrs, OEE and productivity improvements.
- Oversee process, maintenance, and quality activities; conduct trials, DOE, and innovation projects.
- Prepare and implement SOPs, training, certification, and competency development.
- Manage audits & systems: ISO 9001/14001/45001, GRS, GOTS, IATF, BRC, customer & external audits.
- Monitor cost, waste, sustainability & resources (energy, water, waste %, TUC, rejections).
- Handle administration & people management: shifts, leave, IR, recruitment, training, absenteeism.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Maintenance, and HR for planning, delivery, and performance.
- Review and close complaints, CAPA, and process changes.
- Act as Manager in PM Manager’s absence and maintain overall departmental governance.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Engineering/Postgraduate in Textile Technology/Chemistry/Processing with 7+ years’ experience (5 years shift executive, 2 years general shift); B.Tech Textile preferred.
- Strong expertise in finishing & coating operations (bonding, stretching, fusible, UV, non‑wick, tea bag processing, optic fibre cabling, winding & packing).
- Sound knowledge of finishing machines, safety, and quality systems.
- Proficient in SAP and HSE regulations.
- Excellent communication, team leadership, and motivation skills.
- Industry exposure with RM/D&C/PM suppliers and associations.
- Languages: Tamil, English.
Desirable:
- ISO/GRS/GOTS/IATF/BRC internal auditor, LSS Green Belt, and chemical safety (MSDS, ZDHC, Oekotex) knowledge preferred.
