Education/Experience required:

  • Minimum Education: ACCA/CA/CMA
  • Big 4 and at least 3-4 years industry experience preferably MNC or
  • At least 8-10 years experience in tax work related areas
  • Sound knowledge of Pakistan tax rules and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Project management skills
  • Rich experience in managing the tax filing processes
  • Familiar with SAP and other application tools such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Inquisitive with ability to learn tax rules and regulations of other tax jurisdictions
  • High personal standards, integrity and attention to detail, able to demonstrate effective judgement and decision making.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, including face to face, over the telephone and in writing; confident in dealing with individuals at all levels of an organisation

 

Job Role includes:

  1. Responsible for supporting the tax manager on all Direct & Indirect tax compliances for Coats Pakistan. This includes liaising with tax advisors, local BUs and tax authorities as necessary to ensure the groups tax obligations are efficiently managed.
  2. Support the tax manager with identification of local tax compliance and planning initiatives for Coats Pakistan, including and supporting the execution of such initiatives as required. This includes identification of any tax incentives, tax or government subsidies and tax treatment thereon.
  3. Support the tax manager with identification of tax risk in relation to all direct and indirect taxes in Pakistan, including identification, investigation and evaluating mitigation to ensure risk is effectively assessed and mitigated. Support with Tax Authority audits/ enquiries, including liaison with tax advisors and managing the provision of information with the BUs.
  4. Provide tax support to the Pakistan tax manager for business initiatives to improve performance/profitability and ensure the tax position of the Group is optimised. Provision of support on tax advisory services on business-driven queries and initiatives, and updates on tax developments and implications for the business.
  5. Coordination of monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting and forecasting processes for Pakistan, including assisting in the review of Year-End tax reporting packs, tax provisions and cash tax forecasts submitted by BUs.
  6. Provide tax support for treasury/cash management processes in Pakistan, while ensuring that the Group’s tax position is effectively managed and optimised. This includes cash repatriation strategy.
