Role Purpose:

 

Maintain all systems as per Coats global specifications and provide technical support to the pre-screening, WFT & Lab team in complete usage of Colourstitch systems. Ensure that all best practices are being followed and continuously drive the Colour quality, right first time & throughput towards the targets.

 

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:

  • Participate in the SSB (Shift safety Brief) without fail.
  • Take safety rounds in Pre-screening, WFT zones and take initiative to correct in case of any unsafe condition identified. Also highlight if any unsafe conditions found during WFT machine visit.
  • Implement BBS (Behaviour based safety) among the team successfully through One-to-One conversation, safety is priority.
  • Ensure that WFT analysis is carried out for every failed lot immediately after feedback and correct failure reason assigned, and relevant corrective action initiated.
  • Do Out of control (OOC) analysis for the relevant lots >0.8CQ and initiate corrective actions.
  • Identify poor performing / inconsistent recipes and send for lab recipe development.
  • Hoist WFT meetings and complete the corrective actions initiated.
  • Ensure all incidents into WFT manager related to machine, dye house and utilities issue.
  • Provide timely technical support by providing relevant training.
  • Ensure that all Feedback database is properly maintained, Substrate measurement, Single dye range, SACs, TACs etc.
  • Ensure that action has been taken, if TACs or SACs is not good, Improve TACs green category.
  • Ensure high performing feedback system by setting up a management system and updating & monitoring its performance daily.
  • Ensure RFT&CQ, continuous improvement by training pre-screening & Lab team, reviewing daily performance and monitoring against the laid down rules.
  • Train pre-screening and lab team on proper use of TACs for correction and prediction process.
  • Comply fully with all relevant SOPs. Ensure compliance with 5S housekeeping standards.

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Experience:

  • B.Sc  in Engineering or equivalent degree from reputed university with science background – Textile or Chemistry background
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years working in Coats laboratory environment or equivalent.
  • Proficient in use of COLOUR STITCH Feedback or equivalent.
  • Proficient in use of COLOUR STITCH LRM or equivalent.
  • Proficient in use of COLOUR STITCH Pre-screening Wizard or equivalent.
  • Proficient in use of WFT Manager or equivalent.

 

Knowledge and understanding of:

  • Colour Stitch – Level 4
  • Different types of Coats threads
  • Coats global dyeing programs
  • All SOPs 
  • Dyeing variables and their impact on dye house performance i.e. WFT analysis
  • Coats H&S policy and local SHE
  • 5S Housekeeping principles
