Role Purpose:

 

To manage all technical aspects of the dyehouse, Dyehouse production control, and work in progress in order to meet stipulated productivity, efficiency, and utilization targets, thereby guaranteeing the achievement of throughput and service levels from the dye house. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities aimed at achieving and maintaining world-class manufacturing performance. 

 

What you will do:

  • Manage the day-to-day technical aspects of the Dyehouse operations; providing expertise, encouragement and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high-performance standards, meet established targets, objectives, and employee engagement in a motivated work environment.
  • To have a ‘hands-on’ involvement in the day-to-day production loading and expediting of all works orders.
  • Carry out WFT meetings daily and Ensure that all failed batches are investigated and assigned an accurate failure reason in a timely manner on a shift-wise basis at the point of failure.
  • Ensure a high level of dynamic action planning is in place that clearly underpins the main drivers for underperformance against set KPIs with specific emphasis on improving RFT, Colour Quality, reducing customer complaints, and waste reduction.
  • Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives related to the Technical function, setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback in order to maximize Dyehouse performance.
  • Ensure that production is carried out in compliance with all relevant safety, health, quality, and environmental management policies, Chemical management Policies, SOPs, and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • To manage and direct the day-to-day activities of Dyehouse technical controllers, including all personnel matters (time, attendance, performance, etc).
  • Ensure that levels of absenteeism are controlled and that historical absenteeism data is analyzed and remedial action is taken in instances where abnormally high levels and or irregular patterns are detected.
  • Continually drive productivity and efficiency improvement in all facets of Dyehouse operations (as measured by all key performance indicators such as RFT, Colour Quality, LpMpD, Utilisation, and Efficiency) through careful review and analysis of these performance indicators.
  • Continually improve and drive Dyehouse productivity, efficiency, and utilization through careful review and analysis of production data, working with the Industrial Engineering Team to ensure that optimum work study targets and work methods are in place.
  • Coordinate and deliver all cross-training within the team to provide greater flexibility in the allocation of resources and to deliver productivity improvements.
  • Encourage employees in the function to embrace change, understand and follow new processes and procedures put in place, in order to achieve the objectives of the organization.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking into account 'Coats best practice', cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Ensure succession plans are developed and in place for people identified with potential for promotion or increased responsibility ensuring their knowledge gaps are clearly identified and training plans put in place to close existing gaps.
  • Continually promote the principles of 5S housekeeping.

 

Who you are:

  • Minimum of Graduate calibre or similar through vocational qualification.
  • Minimum 3 Passes at G.C.E. (A/L) examination in Science subject.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Minimum of 3 years working in Coats Dyehouse and Laboratory environment.
  • Experience in operating SEDO Master, SAP system & Colourstitch.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work as a team.
  • Ability to adopt changes based on the requirement.
  • Team management experience.
