Summary of the role:

This role will be working in Gotex in Lliçà d’Amunt and reporting to the Innovation Manager, the Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance on a variety of equipment, including looms, extrusion lines, and other custom-built machinery. Additionally, the candidate will have the capability to build small parts and modify existing production lines to enhance performance and efficiency.  

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on looms, extrusion lines, and other home-built equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in various types of equipment.
  • Build small parts and components as needed to support equipment maintenance and modifications.
  • Modify and upgrade existing production lines to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design and implement equipment modifications and improvements.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Source and order necessary parts and materials for maintenance and repair tasks.

 

Qualifications required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with PLC programming and control systems is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to fabricate and assemble small parts and components.
  • Experience with welding, machining, and other fabrication techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and practices in an industrial setting.
