Role Purpose

 

To Assist EC Manager to monitor & control all aspects related with environment, legal, compliance and corporate social responsibility in order to meet & comply with local regulatory & Group policy

 

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities

1. Environment management:  

  • Ensure all working area there is no potential environmental incident, no potential spill and the check lists are completed by conducting regular environmental and sustainability patrol to ensure
  • Ensure all inspection / patrol results are recorded and reported regularly and timely to Manager or higher level
  • Ensure giving full support in scheduling and conducting environmental and sustainability training for employees
  • Ensure environment compliance inductions are delivered to new employees, and contractors who work at Coats site
  • Ensure environment compliance reports (Intelex, Enhesa, waste manifest, Emeret, Sustainability Report and others) are completed, reviewed by Manager and submitted timely
  • Ensure regular monitoring wastewater parameters meet Group standards & Government regulations and reporting is made to the actual and submitted timely
  • Ensure Laboratory and testing requirements to support wastewater compliance and environmental measurement are provided
  • Ensure waste management running well (waste reduce, reuse, recycle, composting program)
  • Ensure to be part and active participation in the investigation of workplace environment incident or potential threats
  • Ensure monitoring all legal aspect related environment regulations, permits, and all licence tools, equipment are done
  • Ensure supports in conducting regular measurement, making environmental impact assessment report to government are in place
  • Ensure supports are given to other departments, external/internal auditors, government and other parties in verification and investigation hazard finding, environment incidents or processing environment licenses / permits to meet environment standards

2. ISO and Sustainability programs:

  • Active participation in environmental programs or certification such as document control environmental and sustainability, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 or any local standards.
  • Ensure supports and participation are provided in sustainability programs
  1. Chemical management:
  • Ensure all chemicals & waste chemicals support are within MSDS, and MSDS’ are all updated, correct, and stored in proper locations.
  • Ensure Coats Restricted Substance List, Chemical inventory list are valid and take part in action plans for replacement of chemicals are undertaken if necessary. 
  • Ensure chemical compliance reports are completed, reviewed by Manager and submitted timely

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Desirable

  • Bachelor degree in technical fields. Engineering, chemical or environmental related degrees preferred
  • 2-3 years of prior compliance experience in environmental, manufacturing area
  • Knowledge or experience in chemical management, environmental management (ISO 14001), wastewater treatment or environmental regulations
  • Experience preparing narrative reports.
  • Charting and trend analysis skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to understand challenges
  • Self-starter with good communication skills,
  • Proficiency in English both speaking and writing,
  • Ability to read and understand English materials.
