Role Purpose:
The position is to support Laboratory Manager by ensuring smooth operation and coordination of all laboratory activities relating to LRM Coordination, Colour Matching, sample preparation, and Ahiba and Simplex operations, on shift and during shift handovers. The position also to ensure the optimum allocation of resources (people and machinery) during shift, including weekend.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:

  • Ensure all activities relating to LRM, colour matching, sample preparation and machinery operations are adequately resourced during shift so that Service Lead Time (SLT) performances are optimised. 
  • Monitor team workload and workflow to maximise operational efficiency and effectiveness and identify gaps in technical capability.
  • Ensure that Colour Atlas SOPs are fully adhered to when processing DTM requests.
  • Efficient logging and management of all laboratory workload using Colour Stitch Lab Request Manager software in line with global SOPs.
  • Submit high quality thread matches to customers for DTM and sample order requests, ensuring that strike rate of shade card and atlas shades is maximized.
  • Ensure that high quality recipes are promoted to bulk.
  • Through proper recipe pre-screening, ensure that all laboratory batches released for dyeing are done so with the highest quality recipe possible, resulting in the best possible chance of a high colour quality result.
  • Smart scheduling of lab batches onto dyeing machine using plan-board (Sedomaster) by using colour groups.
  • Ensure that all new recipes are developed using approved Coats global dyestuff triangulations and that all shadecard shades, Colour Atlas shades and GKA shades use the correct global specific triangulation when using LRM.
  • Drive continual improvement in dyeing attempts per request for Sewing Colour Approval, BRI and BRD laboratory requests etc.
  • Perform Guardian and UV calibration as required and ensure that Guardian correlation is properly enabled on spectrophotometers.
  • Monitor laboratory KPI performance and recommend and/or implement actions leading to performance improvement where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant SOPs and that machines operate within manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team, especially during shift handover, and across departments with respect to maintenance or delivery issues.
  • Ensure a high level of safety awareness is maintained at all times and take steps to eliminate all risk factors and potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with 5S housekeeping

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate in Chemistry / Physics / Textile Technology / Chemical Engineering from any recognized university.
  • 3-5 year of relevant experience from reputed MNC/Local Manufacturing company
  • Working experience in rotational shift management in a high pressure high volume environment will be preferred.
  • Strong team player with a can do attitude .
  • Proactive with strong interpersonal/ communication skills
