Role Purpose:

As an Executive - Engineering, responsible for overseeing daily shift maintenance activities in Thread Dyeing & Finishing operations.  

Manage the operation and maintenance of thread dyeing & finishing machinery, utility systems, electrical equipment, and automation systems to ensure maximum equipment availability and minimum downtime.  

Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practice.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Key Result Area 

  • Plan and allocate maintenance manpower effectively for shift activities to ensure uninterrupted operations. 
  • Attend and resolve equipment breakdowns within targeted response times. 
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). 
  • Monitor machine breakdown trends and maintain maintenance history records for analysis and improvement. 
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans to improve equipment reliability and availability. 
  • Support achievement of maintenance KPIs including MTTR, MTBF, machine availability, and downtime reduction. 
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Utility, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth shift operations. 
  • Support installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement projects related to thread dyeing & finishing operations. 
  • Monitor low Right First Time machines and support initiatives to improve RFT percentage. 
  • Review utility consumption and identify opportunities for operational improvements.

 

Utilities & Energy Management 

  • Monitor compressor performance and optimize compressed air consumption. 
  • Review daily energy consumption using ESG monitoring systems. 
  • Identify and implement energy conservation opportunities. 
  • Support sustainability initiatives and reduction of utility operating costs. 
  • Ensure efficient operation of power, water, compressed air, and process utility systems.

 

Spares 

  • Maintain adequate inventory of critical spare parts to avoid production downtime. 
  • Identify high consumption spares and conduct RCA to reduce repeat failures. 
  • Ensure timely procurement and replenishment of critical maintenance parts. 
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels through effective spare management practices.

 

Safety 

  • Ensure implementation and sustainability of 6S standards in all maintenance work areas. 
  • Follow and enforce electrical safety procedures and LOTO requirements. 
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. 
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and statutory requirements.

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electrical & Electronics engineering.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in Textile, Thread Dyeing, Yarn Dyeing, or Process Manufacturing industries. 
  • Experience in shift maintenance operations and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. 
  • Exposure to HT/LT systems, motors, drives, automation, and utility equipment. 

 

Desirable:

  • Experience with SEDO Controllers, Lawer Machines, and Technorama Systems. 
  • Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools. 
  • Experience in ESG software and energy monitoring systems. 
  • Electrical safety certifications will be an added advantage.
