Role Purpose:

To empower employees with the knowledge and skills to work safely and prevent incidents, thereby fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with regulations. They achieve this through effective training development and delivery, continuous improvement of training methods, and contributions to broader safety initiatives within the organization.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develops and delivers high-quality safety training programs.
  • Ensures training programs comply with relevant regulatory standards.
  • Drives a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training and implements necessary improvements.
  • Contributes to a safe working environment through inspections, campaigns, and incident reviews.

Key Activities:

  • Designing and Developing Training Materials:
    • Creates comprehensive High-risk activity program – e.g. Working at Height Training programs covering fall hazards, fall protection equipment, inspection procedures, and rescue plans, including engaging slides, practical exercises, and visual aids.
    • Develops and delivers Machine Safety Training on guarding principles, lockout/tagout, safe operating procedures, and machinery risk assessment.
    • Designs tailored training modules for other High-Risk Tasks specific to the organization, ensuring practical application and understanding of hazards and controls.
    • Competently analyzes current safety performance data to identify training needs and develop targeted Training Plans.
    • Creates visually appealing and informative Training Slides using various media to enhance understanding and retention.
  • Delivering Engaging and Effective Training Sessions:
    • Employs diverse interactive training methods to cater to different learning styles.
    • Facilitates dynamic and participatory learning environments.
    • Conducts clear and concise practical demonstrations of safety procedures and equipment.
  • Evaluating Training Effectiveness:
    • Implements various assessment tools to evaluate participants' understanding and competence.
    • Analyzes evaluation data to identify areas for improvement or reinforcement.
    • Provides constructive feedback to trainees.
  • Driving Innovation in Training:
    • Explores and implements new training technologies like e-learning, VR, AR, and gamification.
    • Continuously seeks feedback to improve training programs and delivery methods.
  • Contributing to Overall Workplace Safety:
    • Conducts regular inspections of key safety equipment such as first aid boxes.
    • Performs basic maintenance checks on safety equipment and reports defects.
    • Develops and implements proactive safety awareness campaigns.
    • Analyzes incident reports and near-miss data to identify trends and learning opportunities.

 Education, Qualifications and Experience

·       A total of 4 years of experience, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in Health & Safety (H&S) training.

·       NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.

·       Fluency in Tamil is mandatory (WRS).

Role Breakdown: This role will be 60% focused on training and 40% on regular H&S tasks.
