Finance Business Partner, Europe & N. Africa

Role Purpose: 

To support the regional and sub-regional leadership team and relevant stakeholders for planning and decision making with insights and financial analysis to maximise its financial and strategic deliverables.

Be the custodian and manager of the financial resources for relevant Business Units within the subregion, to drive talent development and succession planning, with the objective of building a strong bench strength ready for finance role opportunities when it arises.

Provide oversight and protect the interest of Coats for the business operations.

 

What you will do (Key Responsibilities): 

1. Providing leadership to the Finance and sub-cluster leadership team

a. Support the leadership team in developing strategic initiatives and setting appropriate goals/targets

b. Ensure that team delivers the highest standard of departmental, cross departmental, cross functional teamwork and support.

c. Ensure optimal deployment of resources to achieve business goals.

d. Develop finance and accounting team goals that are fully aligned with the overall Company goals.

 

2. Accounting and financial controls

a. Develop a strong business and financial control environment, ensuring full compliance of Group accounting policies, procedures and supported guidelines.

b. Manage the financial reporting process ensure maximum team’s productivity, leveraging on Group’s resources, e.g. COE and TST, controllership and GIA team.

c. Lead, coordinate and manage the key activities for statutory compliance, like external audit, timely completion of audited financial statements, GIA review, local tax review        etc.

 

3. Treasury, Legal and risk management

a. Oversee the cash management function, including banking relationships and ongoing banking relationships for smooth business operations.

b. Support the regional FD and FPA controller with a robust cash flow forecasting, both short term (within the month), mid- and long-term cash forecast.

c. Responsible for risk management (financial and business) of the sub-cluster. Own the local risk register, lead the discussion with management teams within the sub-cluster,      highlight, track and seek mitigating actions of any identified business risk.

d. Ensure appropriate legal review of contracts and solicit external legal advice as required.

 

4. Management reporting and forward-looking activities

a. Ensure a robust financial management reporting tool, process and reports are in place to support business decisions and deliver the ongoing and future strategic needs of        the business or cluster.

b. Support the annual business plan and mid-term plan process to be aligned with the strategic goals of the sub-region.

c. Provide ongoing financial support analysis expertise to support business decisions for forward looking activities of all time frames, i.e. monthly rolling, quarterly forecasts,          Plan and MTP.

 

Who you are (Requirements): 

  • Degree in Finance and Accounting
  • Based in the relevant country (or the largest country in the cluster) and understand the local language.
  • Strong communication skills and an excellent ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to articulate complex matters simply and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and programmes.

 

What will set you apart (Nice to Have):

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with at least 10 years of senior management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to apply judgement in ambiguous situations, delivering effective solutions.
  • Low/no drama delivery.
