Role Purpose

 

H&S executive is responsible for regulating and enforcing workplace Health and safety regulations as per Coats’ standard. This role aims to strengthen and supporting health and safety culture by: 1. ensure all TaRA & MSA reviewed and updated  2. To ensure all incidents/accidents are investigated and reported 3. To ensure the action plan of H&S Audit Program in factory completed. 4. To ensure new employees and contractors are trained on HS awareness before working in the factory and 5. To monitor contractors and ensure they must follow Coats H&S requirement.

 

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities

 

  • Be responsible for site health & safety inspection follow up H&S Policy
  • Training program for both CPP employees and contractor employees

TaRA/ MSA:

  • Coordinate with relevant departments do TaRA/ MSA when having new activities and review TaRA/ MSA periodically to control the hazards and reduce the risks.

Incident/accident:

  • Investigate incidents/accidents to identify the root cause, corrective/preventive actions to prevent the repetition of incident/accident and follow up action plan accordingly
  • Report of unsafe report weekly

 

Audit/ Inspection/ Patrol:

  • Conduct shop-floor (production & Warehouse) area patrol daily to ensure employees comply with HS regulations and to record any unsafe conditions/things, report to relevant department for fixing.
  • Issue work permit for contractor before working and conduct audit daily to ensure contractors comply with H&S regulations
  • Coordinate to other departments to conduct 6S audit monthly to evaluate the effectiveness of H&S programmes put in place.

 

Training:

  • Training newcomer on HS awareness before working at CPP to comply with HS policy
  • Training contractor on HS awareness before working at CPP to comply with HS policy
  • Training and organizing chemical overflow practice yearly to comply with legal requirement
  • Organizing Exit drills quarterly to comply with customer requirement
  • Organizing annual Fire drills to comply with legal requirement
  • Other training as global requirement.

 

Others:

  • Receive HS issues raised through departments and work with relevant departments to solve the issues
  • Issue PTW
  • Other tasks as requested by Manager

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Desirable

  • University graduate, preferably with at least 3-year experience in a job relating to health and safety, especially in manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Training skill
  • Computer skill:  Microsoft 365
  • Ability to read and understand English materials.
  • Mechanic/Technical knowledge
  • ISO 45001 knowledge
  • First aid training
