Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities
1. Monitoring & Compliance
• Conduct daily inspections/patrols on the shop floor to ensure compliance with H&S regulations, record unsafe conditions/acts, and report to relevant departments for corrective action.
• Understand and apply legal, customer, and Coats requirements; develop and maintain SOPs/processes to ensure compliance.
• Conduct incident investigations within responsible departments and follow up on corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain daily/weekly/monthly H&S reports, including reports required by law.
2. Contractor & Workforce Safety
• Manage contractor safety: provide training, conduct audits/reviews, issue work permits (PTW), and update relevant SOPs.
• Develop/update H&S training materials; organize training sessions for new employees, contractors, and Coats employees as per training plan.
• Monitor PPE management: review, update, and maintain PPE matrix; oversee PPE delivery, purchasing, and stock control.
3. Equipment & Emergency Preparedness
• Manage high-risk/critical equipment: organize inspections as per departmental requests and planned schedules; maintain proper records.
• Manage firefighting systems by ensuring equipment compliance, conducting training and drills, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and meeting all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage first aid and emergency equipment: develop/update SOPs, ensure provision of necessary tools, and track compliance with legal requirements.
4. Systems & Technology
• Maintain and track the Intelex system (Global Safety Reporting & Incident Management).
• Maintain and track the Intenseye system (Global AI Safety Camera Monitoring).
5. Security Management
• Develop/update security-related SOPs, manage security contractors, and ensure the CCTV system operates in compliance with requirements.
Others:
• Receive H&S issues raised by departments and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
• University graduate in Labor Safety (Health & Safety) or an Engineering/Technology field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical).
• At least 3 years of experience in health & safety or in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of technical safety, including machine guarding, working at height, hot work, confined space safety, isolation and lockout, electrical safety, high-pressure equipment, lifting safety, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Fitness for work regarding working at height and emergency rescue: physically and mentally fit, with adequate strength, balance, and coordination; free from conditions that could impair safe work (e.g., seizures, vertigo, or other impairments).
• Basic English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and collaboration tools (OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Training and facilitation skills.
Desirable
• NEBOSH/IOHS Certified.
• Group 2 – Health & Safety Personnel.
• Group 3 – Working at Height Certified.
• Emergency Rescue Practitioner.
• Proficient in MS Automate, MS PowerApps, and technical drawing applications.
• Knowledge of Vietnamese Health & Safety laws, technical standards, safety design, and ISO 45001.
