Role Purpose:
Act as a strategic HR Business Partner to the Manufacturing department by fostering a highly engaged team. Be responsible to ensure superior employee experience, recruitment, training & development and industrial relation. Ensure a positive work environment, compliance with company policies and local regulations, while supporting overall productivity with high employee engagement in the factory.
Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:
Recruitment:
- Monitor and ensure required manning for manufacturing function.
- Responsible to recruit the operators as per the business requirements.
- Support in the recruitment process for the white-collar equivalent positions.
- Responsible for management of contract labours appointed either through labour vendor or service agreement.
Employee Engagement:
- Lead and organize all engagement activities of the plant.
- Identify and monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction
- Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
- Ensure that overall employee engagement is high which in turn maintain/improve GPTW score.
Industrial Relation:
- Play an active role in maintaining Industrial Relations with the Trade Union
- Facilitate LTA (Long Term Agreement) and ensure completion of LTA within the time frame and in line with company goal
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with CBA (Collective Bargaining Agent) by bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
Training and Development:
- Coordinate with the plant management teams and implement trainings as per schedule.
- Facilitate soft skill trainings for the operators.
- Deliver the required trainings as per target.
- Maintain the training reports and records.
Audits:
- Support group internal audits and ensure that results are favourable by complying all process, procedure, laws, regulations etc. All improvements actions post audits are properly followed up.
- Review the HR processes as per the key control frameworks.
- Ensure periodical auditing of the labor practices of the third party service providers.
- Ensure that all external audits related to human resources are completed smoothly and results are satisfactory. All improvements actions post audits are followed up and closed.
Compliance:
- Handle all Compliances and maintain collaborative relations with all regulatory authorities, factory inspectorate, local authorities as and when required
- Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with Bangladesh Labour Law and company Human Resources policies
- Facilitate and prepare documentation and information required for compliance with laws
Health and Safety:
- Ensure the plant HR and Admin team adhere to the current company health and safety procedures whilst making suggestion for improvement
- Work closely along with line manager and H&S team members to play the vital role for increasing awareness and knowledge of the employee, contractor and visitors which will help them to move on with a safety standard for zero accidents in Plant and Warehouse.
General Administration:
- Ensure that canteen is managed as per the set hygienic standards and provide an uninterrupted service to its employees as per agreed standards.
- Maintain agreed infrastructure facilities at the Plant and ensure HR services such as issuing Uniforms, providing Loans, Insurance facilities are provided to employees as per Policies and Procedures.
- Monitor the transportation services are maintained within its budgets.
Others:
- Ensure Performance Management & Succession Plan are well addressed in Plant.
- Achieve financial objectives by anticipating requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analysing variances.
- Achieve specific financial objectives by communicating with administrative personnel and making adjustments to workflow as necessary.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
(Include skills and competencies required to perform the role competently)
Essential:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or relevant field.
- 12 to 15 years of experience working in manufacturing sector’s HR in large organization(s) with due exposure in industrial relations dealing with CBA (Collective Bargaining Agent).
- 3-5 years of experience as people manager/team lead
- Passion to work with people in manufacturing environment, with a focus on delivering a positive employee experience while maintaining good relations with Union(s).
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration and influencing people.
- Excellent collaborative and organizational diagnosis skills in a complex set up.
- Expert in MS Excel and Power point.
- Excellent communication skills both in English & Bangla.
Desirable:
- Skilled in Coaching and Leading Team
- Negotiation skill with big teams
- Experience managing SuccessFactors (SAP)
- Experience dealing with labour offices/court
