Role Purpose:
To develop and implement appropriate HR strategies globally with a view to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the markets ensuring alignment with the global HR agenda and Coats values and principles.
What you will do (Key Responsibilities):
- Formulating business-aligned HR Strategy globally:
- Lead the drawing up of cost-effective staffing, skilling, and motivating strategies of all teams globally.
- Ensure that formulated HR strategy is aligned to corporate strategy, principles, and values.
- Ensure that HR Strategy is owned by businesses and understood uniformly across all senior levels.
- Employee Relations:
- Formulate and implement the tenets of strong, productive, and sustainable relationships with multiple unions and works councils and key influencers in unionisable workforce, across locations, markets, and relevant political jurisdictions.
- Lead teams to, and personally as well, build and maintain productive relationships with multiple unions operating in different locations globally.
- Harness from such relationships, in sustainable manner, improvements in productivity, maintenance of discipline, adaptation to changes as Coats progresses, and resolution of agreements involving Bonus, Wages, working terms & conditions and Productivity.
- Take key decisions to ensure industrial harmony hand-in-hand with optimising labour productivity across the different locations in each of the markets.
- Design and implement appropriate Voluntary Separation Schemes for dealing with surplus workforce.
- Lead the planning and implementation of all HR processes and initiatives ensuring alignment with Coats Global initiatives:
- Career and Succession Planning: Formulate & implement, with the active assistance of the MDs, career & succession plans for Senior & key managers and positions.
- Talent Identification and Development: ensure due processes that can be institutionalised.
- T&D and Performance Improvement: provide governance to the implementation of the global strategy giving inputs for bringing the required contextualisation for different parts globally.
- Reward & Recognition: policies and initiatives and processes.
- Governing Compensation Policy: Review and modify Compensation Policy to encourage good performers to contribute to the overall success of the Company and their own growth.
- Productivity: Lead efforts to significantly improve productivity of human resources by providing benchmarks, strategies, and support in implementation.
- Employee Engagement: lead the process of gaining senior management commitment and ownership of engagement-building processes and enculturation in management styles.
- Communication and Functional Advice:
- Establish appropriate communication channels and messages covering all levels of the organisation with a view to exploiting the motivating potential of Communication.
- Establish communications channels through activities, events and processes to share information, best practices and thus promote relationship-building globally.
- Functional Advice: Advise MDs & market HR Heads on trends in the HR area which could impact the individual businesses and Company.
- Statutory Compliances and Administration:
- Ensure appropriate systems are implemented to comply with statutory and organisational requirements in the areas of Safety, Welfare & Environment.
- Provide cost effective administration support to country based operations.
Who you are (Requirements):
- Line HR experience of at least 12 to 15 years
- Design & implementation of HR systems
- High levels of confidentiality and perseverance
- Ability to influence Business Heads
- Strong analytical & problem solving ability
- Strong communication skills
- Strong IR & negotiation skills in a multi union environment (CBA & WC)
- Sensitivity to others
- Ability to design and implement HR systems and conceptualise issues
