Role Purpose 

The Junior Colour Systems Support Analyst is responsible for supporting the Colour Systems Applications.  Working for the Senior Colour Systems Support Analyst, this role will support the Global Dye House resource and triaging and resolving the help-desk tickets for the Global Colour Systems.  This role Includes use of various support tools including Jira, Service Now and Confluence.

To ensure long term sustainability of Coats Colour Systems and delivery of the highest levels of productivity and product quality across Coats dyehouse operations globally, through proper systems design, development, implementation, test, support, and user training. To support building of complementary Colour Systems Team capability globally through effective knowledge transfer and training in dyehouse process, systems usage, and software/hardware architecture.

Where required, this role will also support the Manufacturing Centre of Excellence initiative in driving manufacturing performance, quality and sustainability. Participating in cross functional team of experts dedicated to driving manufacturing excellence globally.

The role works with other functions and stakeholders in the organisation to foster innovation, efficiency, and excellence in Colour Systems.

 

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities 

  • Ensure uptime levels of ColourStitch systems across Coats dyehouses at levels in excess of 98% through effective prioritisation and provision of Colour systems support.
  • Raising and prioritising development tickets for the dyehouse management system (bug fixes, improvements, new functionalities), as well as regression testing of new software releases.
  • Assist in preparing clear and concise end user documentation for the dyehouse management system, as well as write, review and approval of global Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and technical bulletins (TB) for our dyehouses and laboratories to support local user training and standardised system usage.
  • Delivering training workshops and webinars on best practice use of the dyehouse management system and best practice dyehouse processes.
  • Supporting a group of Colour Systems Power Users for the dyehouse management system, including developing a set of competency assessments, and providing regular training.
  • Contributing to global colour management projects and dyehouse process improvement projects.
  • Collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including dyehouse and laboratory teams, supply chain senior leadership and external suppliers.
  • Development, maintenance, and distribution of global reports, including the use of SQL scripts, Excel Power Pivot, and data analysis techniques.
  • Participate in preparing summary reports for projects, clearly and concisely outlining conclusions and recommendations, project plans, requirements, and functional specifications.
  • Liaison with Digital & Technology infrastructure and network teams ensuring provision of effective technology support on issues where root cause sits outside direct control of Colour Systems Team.
  • Ensure Coats Colour systems deliver dyehouse productivity improvements and enhanced customer satisfaction through improved colour quality and customer service.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer and training of newly appointed team members, enabling provision of future systems support and new systems development to be effectively shared across locations.
  • Proactively contribute to enhancement of system functional requirements.
  • Co-ordinate optimisation of internal Colour Systems Team processes to maximise development productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensuring appropriate knowledge transfer to systems users through design, preparation and delivery of training webinars and workshops.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Textile Engineering, Colour Science, Software Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in colour systems, preferably in the textile industry.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in colour systems, colour theory, colour measurement, colour communication and colour quality control.
  • Proficient in using colour systems software and hardware, such as Datacolor, X-Rite, Pantone.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills.
  • Highly customer-oriented, with the ability to understand and anticipate customer needs and expectations.
  • Strong customer service ethos
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
