Role Purpose:
To manage all technical aspects of the Dyehouse and manage the manpower in order to ensure that products and processes meet Coats technical specification and desired performance levels. To gain knowledge, skills and experience necessary to take on the responsibilities of Dyehouse Manager that forms part of the plants succession plan.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:
 

Manage & Control agreed service level of Dyehouse department.

  • Manage the day-to-day technical aspects of the Dyehouse operations; providing expertise, encouragement and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement in a motivated work environment
  • Manage the troubleshooting of ad-hoc, process and equipment related problems to ensure production levels are maintained
  • Ensure a minimum of 10% WFT reasons are audited on a daily basis with the differences/findings discussed in the daily WFT meeting
  • Act as a role model for the role out and implementation of the coats goals and principles ensuring that the wider team understand and can translate the key messages into actions.

Control financial performance of Dyehouse Department

  • Manage continuous improvement initiatives cross functionally aimed at maximizing the potential for saving cost within the business whilst ensuring that “Coats best practice” is in place
  • Manage the development and implementation of operational policies, SOP's and controls covering all areas of Technical activity so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to customers

Control health & safety related issues and other compliances comply with Local and global requirements

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, quality and environmental management policies, SOPs and controls across the Technical function to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products / services and a responsible environmental attitude

Manage and develop Dyehouse Team:

  • Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives related to the Technical function, setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and Dyehouse performance
  • Encourage employees in the function to embrace change, understand and follow new processes and procedures put in place, in order to achieve the objectives of the organization
  • Train, coach and mentor subordinates with a view to making recommendations for succession plans at plant level.

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Sc. Engineering in any discipline/B.Sc( Hons), M.Sc in Chemistry/Physics or equivalent degree from reputed university. 
  • Minimum 5 years management / supervisory experience with 12 years of relevant working experience in manufacturing & production 

  • Exposure to change management processes & expertise to handle large group of people

  • Previous experience of textile colouration advantageous 

  • Strong interpersonal / communication skills with good analytical and presentation skill
