Role Purpose:

 

The role will be responsible to manage, guide and control all the Engineering and utilities related activities along with support in  project work in order to ensure the continuous operation of the plant within agreed service levels and in adherence to health and safety regulations of assigned plant/site.

 

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:

 

Manage & Control agreed service level of Engineering department.

  • Implement standard preventive maintenance covering all the machineries of the Factory.
  • Ensuring the updated data for each and every B/D in the floor to monitor and control root cause analysis against the common fault through special software.
  • Ensure the plant reliability and apply governance of all site maintenance contracts in accordance with best practice. And also ensure all the spare parts availability in store to reduce the correction time.
  • Ensure the plants utilities are correctly specified to meet the demand, whilst managing the maintenance service contracts to ensure limited unplanned stoppages

 

Control financial performance of Engineering Department

  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding plant equipment and engineering consumables, preparation of CAPEX budgets whilst ensuring CAPEX projects are managed correctly.
  • Ensure the total productive maintenance by our own resources to minimize the cost involving the third party.
  • Ensure that the annual revenue budgets for engineering are developed from a zero base, understood by all stake holders and maintained throughout the year with any major variances highlighted.

 

Control health and safety and environment related issues comply with Local and global requirements

  • Ensure the plant engineering team adhere to the current company health and safety and Environmental safety procedures whilst making suggestions for improvement.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of ETP which can comply DoE requirements as well as global requirements.
  • Ensure all the certification as per the local government role for the plant operation specially related to Utilities and environment.
  • Ensure the implementation of environment friendly operation to minimize the energy consumption.
  • As a responsible person to control any type of handling, removing, repairing or disposing of Asbestos in the plant and to implement as well as to achieve compliance with company provided guidelines and any local legislation.

 

Manage and develop Engineering Team:

  • Lead, coach and direct Engineers to maintain and improve performance so they can adopt world class maintenance practices.
  • Ensure proper training through skill matrix and training plan.

 

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience

(Include skills and competencies required to perform the role competently)

 

Essential Skills:

  • M.Sc./B.Sc in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in production management software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations

 

Desirable:

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certifications.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local rules and regulations governing H&S
  • Local environmental legislation
  • Preventative maintenance techniques
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 an advantage
  • Pressure vessel maintenance advantageous
  • MS Office, SAP, Colour Stitch, Minitab
