Role Purpose:

The Officer, HR is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of employee time and attendance records. Acting as the critical link between factory operations and payroll, this role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance, data accuracy, and HRIS governance standards.

 

What you will do:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee time and attendance records within the HRIS.
  • Resolve daily attendance exceptions, including missed punches, invalid entries, and shift discrepancies.
  • Process leave records, manual attendance adjustments, and shift change requests with high accuracy.
  • Compile, validate, and audit attendance reports for monthly payroll processing.
  • Execute payroll cut-off and system lock procedures in line with established timelines.
  • Monitor attendance trends and recurring discrepancies, recommending corrective actions.
  • Support HRIS audits by maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance.
  • Generate attendance, overtime, and workforce reports to support management decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance HRIS efficiency through digitization and automation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee attendance-related queries.
  • Train supervisors on attendance processes, shift management, and HRIS requirements.
  • Communicate payroll deadlines, attendance requirements, and leave-related information to employees and managers.

 

 

Who you are:

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in Time & Attendance (T&A) and HRIS administration within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and logical formulas.
  • Proven ability to handle high-volume data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet strict payroll cut-off deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English and Sinhala to effectively communicate with employees and stakeholders across all levels.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

 

 

What will set you apart:

  • Experience working with global HRIS platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or SAP.
  • Knowledge of Sri Lankan labour regulations relating to overtime calculations and leave administration.
  • Experience in digitizing manual HR processes and driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to identify and interpret attendance, absenteeism, and shift management trends to recommend improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain attendance, leave, and payroll-related matters in a supportive yet firm manner.
