Role Purpose:

Take professional responsibility for the effectiveness and performance of Color Systems, including color improvement, recipe management, feedback, and BRD/BRI. Act as the technical owner driving RFT/CQ performance, reducing reprocessing and color failures.Support Dyehouse quality and productivity targets through strong color system performance.

 

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities

Color Development, Recipe Management & System Effectiveness

  • Take professional responsibility for the effectiveness of color development, recipe management, feedback, and pre‑screening processes.
  • Drive accurate shade development and recipe optimization to meet customer standards and bulk production capability.
  • Maintain, review, and improve color databases, recipes, and system records to ensure correct and effective application in bulk production.

 

Shade Evaluation & Quality Support

  • Drive right‑first‑time color performance through disciplined shade evaluation and effective lab‑to‑bulk coordination.
  • Lead technical analysis of color‑related failures using WFT, system data, and bulk feedback.
  • Define and follow up corrective and preventive actions for color‑related failures.
  • Ensure bulk feedback is systematically translated into Lab practices, recipe rules, and color system improvements.

 

Color System Rules, Standards & Technical Governance

  • Own and continuously improve color system rules, including dye‑class logic, chemical rules, and calibration principles.
  • Ensure color system configurations and working methods are aligned with current Dyehouse production realities and global standards.
  • Act as the technical reference for color system methodologies and rule application

 

Continuous Improvement & Annual Action Planning

  • Develop and execute annual Color improvement actions aligned with Dyehouse and Quality improvement plans.
  • Identify recurring color and recipe failure patterns and drive preventive improvement actions.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects to improve CMC performance and improve bulk stability.

 

Systems Operation, Data Analysis & IT / Vendor Interface

  • Act as the technical focal point for color systems operation, coordinating with IT, software providers, and system vendors.
  • Ensure stable operation and continuous improvement of Autolab, Sedomaster, Lawer and related systems.
  • Analyze system and performance data and provide technical conclusions and improvement proposals to the Associate Dyehouse Manager.

 

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure color system activities comply with Coats standards, SOPs, and customer specifications.
  •  Support internal and external audits related to color systems, traceability, and system data accuracy.
  • Work closely with QA and production teams to reduce I‑COM, customer complaints, and color‑related non‑conformities.

 

Health, Safety & Environmental Awareness

  • Ensure color system practices and technical rules comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  • Consider HSE and sustainability factors when developing or modifying color system rules and laboratory practices.
  • Support safe chemical usage and resource efficiency through improved system design and standardization.

 

Learning & Capability Development

  • Act as the technical authority for Color Systems within the Dyehouse.
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance to Pre‑screening teams.
  • Capture and share best practices to ensure consistent execution and continuous improvemen

 

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience

(Include skills and competencies required to perform the role competently)

Essential:

  • A graduate in Textile Technology / Chemical Engineering / M. Sc. in Chemistry
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in equivalent environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, proficient in English
  • Dyeing variables and their impact on laboratory and dyehouse performance

 

Desriable:


Knowledge and understanding of:

  • Colour Physics – Level 2
  • Basic dyeing processes and color chemistry
  • Shade matching techniques and color evaluation methods
  • Dyes, chemicals, and their applications
