Role Purpose:
The Senior Manager, HR Business Partner is responsible for delivering strategic HR support to the Bangladesh business. This role partners closely with country leadership team members to align HR strategies with organizational goals, driving talent acquisition, industrial relations, employee engagement, and a great place to work culture. It also ensures excellence in HR operations, contributing to sustainable business growth and organizational capability.
Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:
Strategic HR Partnership
- Support Cluster Head of HR designing and implementing HR strategy that is aligned with organizational priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to country leadership team and provide them HR guidance.
- Lead workforce planning, organizational design, and change management efforts through site HRBPs.
- Ensure support to the business leaders on the talent acquisition efforts, adhering to policies and systems.
- Coordinate with the Talent Manager and leaders for the succession planning of key positions, and implement development initiatives.
- Suggest capability-building programs to the leadership team partnering with the local and global Talent team.
- Support the growth and development of high-potential employees while promoting internal mobility.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Champion employee engagement strategies in line with the Group’s direction to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
- Lead initiatives that enhance employee experience, recognition, and well-being.
- Monitor engagement metrics and implement action plans to address gaps.
- Ensure Great Place To Work (GPTW) recertification and high employee engagement score in the internal surveys.
Industrial Relations and Compliance
- Manage all aspects of industrial relations to foster a harmonious working environment through site HRBPs.
- Lead the settlement of Long Term Agreement with the Workers’ Union.
- Identify employee issues proactively and address those promptly. Facilitate transparent and effective communication and negotiation to resolve any grievances.
- Guide the site HRBPs to for adherence to labor laws and company policies to minimize reputational risks.
- Ensure periodic reviews of Key Control Framework (KCF) in relevant HR areas of all the sites.
- Coordinate with all sites for periodical internal checks on labor practices (both for Coats and Third party employees).
- Coordinate with plant sites for the internal and external (Buyer and Government) audits. Ensure closure of the Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) post-audits.
HR Operations & Excellence
- Oversee HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, policy implementation etc.
- Review and update all HR policies and processes continuously, identify opportunities to incorporate technology for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure accurate and timely HR reporting which are routine, periodic and ad-hoc in nature.
- Suggest improvement of HR systems and workflows.
- Drive digital HR transformation and adoption of global tools and platforms.
Performance, Rewards etc.
- Support the Leadership team during performance management and salary review process.
- Provide input to the Rewards teams to ensure fair and competitive Rewards policies and practices.
- Provide insights and recommendations on employee productivity and retention.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including 5 years in an HRBP or equivalent role.
- Experience in managing industrial relations, including direct engagement with Collective Bargaining Agents (CBA).
- Strong understanding of Bangladesh labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience in a multinational or matrixed organization is preferred.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills to manage and challenge key stakeholders internally and externally.
