Software Engineer - Madurai

Position Title:  Software Engineer 

Location: Madurai, India

Role Purpose

This role will be responsible for carrying out development of mobile applications in Android, iOS and Hybrid platforms. The focus of this position will be on development, enhancement and support of mobile applications in Coats.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities

• Writing, testing and maintaining quality code for mobile applications.
• Collaborating closely with back-end developers in the team.
• Working as part of a small, empowered cross-functional team to deliver business value.
• Investigating and resolving defects in development, test, and production environments.
• Helping to define, maintain and improve our mobile applications architecture and best practices.
• Operational support, including maintaining service availability, post-mortem of events, maintaining play books.
• Improving performance of applications.
• Integrating mobile applications with other web based transactional systems.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in computer science, IT or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ Experience in building hybrid and native mobile applications.
• Experience with profiling and debugging mobile applications.
• Hands-on experience in React Native.
• Experience on XCode, Android Studio, Android Libraries, WebStorm, Flutter, Firebase / FireStore.
• Experience of working in SQLite and Ignite.
• Experience of writing automated tests in Jest, Enzyme.
• Hands on experience in App submissions on App Store and Play Store.
• Desire to work closely with the business, learn new things and teach others.
• Ability to take ownership of a feature or issue, analyse it and solve problems not faced before

Desirable

• MobX-state-tree, Story book, Detox.
• Frameworks such as Cordova, Xamarin, Cocoa Touch, AVFoundation, CoreData, CoreGraphics, CoreText of iOS, Activity, Fragment etc.
• Major UI components like RecyclerView, PageViewer etc.
• Build tools like Maven, Gradle
• RESTful services.
• TypeScript, Node JS, Express.
• Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective C.
