Role Pupose
We’re looking for a dynamic senior team leader to accelerate growth in our global Composites business. You will turn early‑stage concepts into commercially viable products, build a strong innovation pipeline, and drive new market opportunities across Energy, Telecom, and advanced composite applications.
What you will do

Lead the development and commercialization of new composite products, from concept to pilot scale and succesful market launch.

Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure technical performance, process readiness, and smooth industrialization.

Identify new markets, customers, and applications in Energy, Telecom, and adjacent composite sectors.

Engage directly with customers to understand requirements, propose solutions, and translate technical challenges into clear solutions and revenue opportunities.

Collaborate closely across Innovation, Commercial, Operations, and Supply Chain to align priorities and accelerate delivery.

Manage and coach a small team of R&D Engineers, fostering strong execution and technical rigor.

Contribute to long‑term capability and technology roadmaps that support business growth.

Monitor competitive technologies, industry standards, and emerging trends, using insights to guide innovation direction and strengthen product positioning.

Contribute to global collaboration, sharing expertise and supporting growth initiatives across the wider Coats Innovation team.
What we’re looking for
Core Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in composite development, manufacturing, or product engineering.
- Experience leading R&D or technical projects and working with customers.

Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Chemistry, Engineering, Textiles, or related fields.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
Highly preferred (a strong plus):

Applied knowledge of product and process statistical methods (e.g., Six Sigma, Design of Experiments).

Familiarity with Oil & Gas composite material standards such as API 17J or similar.

Advanced academic studies (Master’s or PhD) in a technical or scientific field.

- You are based in Barcelona or open to relocation. Must hold a valid Spanish residence and work permit.
- You have flexibility to travel as needed for global projects and customer interactions.
