Role Purpose:

To provide technical and process leadership across Coats dyehouses and finishing units globally, enabling continual improvement of group defined cost, productivity and quality key performance indicators.

 

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:

 

Technical Performance Improvement

Assess dyehouse teams' capabilities, providing direction and support for performance enhancement. Facilitate site-level action plans with defined milestones and responsibilities, ensuring local management ownership.

 

Best Practices and Standardization

Ensure Coats Wet Processing Units use best practice methods in laboratories and bulk processing.   

Standardize electronic criteria for pass/fail evaluations of global and regional shade ranges across all dyehouse teams.

 

Leadership and Collaboration

Lead the execution of the Dyehouse Peer Review process.

Collaborate with local management teams to identify technically competent individuals for succession planning.

 

Monitoring and Reporting

Monitor and report on manufacturing KPIs for global manufacturing units, documenting root causes and corrective actions for performance fluctuations.

Manage the central wet processing laboratory to ensure color physics data is accessible for the efficient introduction of new raw materials.

 

Project Management and Training

Manage assigned project work to support the global manufacturing strategy.

Develop, prepare, and deliver technical training workshops as required.

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree with a major in science, mathematics or computing discipline or relevant
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a dyehouse manufacturing environment at a senior level
  • Proven ability of project planning and working within tight timescales.
  • Detailed understanding of the operations of Coats dyehouses and finishing units.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of colour physics and Coats colour management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of dyeing, coating, lubrication and other finishing technologies across all main Coats substrates and dye types.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Ability to quickly analyse complex data and situations, and present results that are informative, easy to understand, and provide many different layers of complexity.
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office – Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint required; SQL preferred).
  • Methodical and logical approach to problem solving with ability to implement pragmatic solutions to Coats business problems.
  • High professional integrity in internal and external dealings.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Highly results orientated.
